Welcome to SUPER*

Super* is a new and exciting esoteric programming language. It is named for two things: Its instructions, which look (somewhat) like stars (mostly), and the "superstar developer," not dissimilar from the "rockstar developer." These terms describe a "perfect" software developer and are only used by people who don't understand software development. Also, I just like making esoteric programming languages!

I've been thinking about this language for a while. My first idea was actually just the title. I personally believe that a good title is 70% of an esoteric programming language, because only 30% of people will really read and understand the language's instructions and only maybe 10% of those will actually program in the language. If you've got a good title and a great logo, you've got a great esolang. Anyways, originally Super* was a two dimensional language, but I realized that the instructions that look like stars thing was just holding it back, so I casually redesigned the entire language. After I had some instructions (Maybe 8 of the current set? I think they were * + x X o O 0 and .) I started building out a Python implementation. I wanted to include ASCII output, branching, etc. because my previous language, Two Four, didn't include enough things like that to make interesting (even to me) for long. So, I added more instructions (most importantly `) and really making the language useful for computation (in an incredibly esoteric way.) The last instruction I added was ' ' (space). If I'm being honest, even though I'm super happy with what it brought to the language, I'm kinda sad that it essentially made ` obsolete (except for printing spaces.) I might have to retool that in the future.
